TAA Museum Terms & Conditions

The TAA Museum Terms & Conditions govern all bookings, purchases, and participation in Tours, events, and activities conducted by the Museum.

1. General

  • These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings, purchases, and participation in Tours, events, and activities conducted by the TAA Museum (“the Museum”). By confirming a booking or purchasing an item, visitors agree to abide by these terms.

2. Admission and Conduct

  • Visitors must comply with all Museum rules, signage, and staff instructions.
  • The Museum reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

3. Bookings and Payments

  • All bookings must be paid in full at the time of reservation unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice.
  • The Museum accepts payment by direct deposit and cash. In the event that a payment is unsuccessful, the booking will not be confirmed until full payment has been received.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Refunds will be provided for cancelled bookings, except where meals or other special arrangements have been made on the visitor’s behalf, the cost of which will be deducted from any refund issued.
  • Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the scheduled Tour date. Bank account details must be provided to process the refund.
  • The Museum may offer rescheduling as an alternative to a refund where appropriate.

  • Visitors wishing to cancel must notify the Museum in advance. No refunds will be provided for late arrivals or no-shows.

  • The Museum reserves the right to cancel or reschedule Tours due to operational requirements or safety concerns. Where the Museum cancels a Tour, visitors will be offered a full refund or rescheduled booking.

5. Liability

  • The Museum is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage sustained during a visit, except in cases of gross negligence or as otherwise required by applicable law.
  • Visitors participate in Tours and activities at their own risk.

6. Photography & Media

  • Photography for personal use is permitted unless otherwise indicated.
  • Commercial photography or filming requires prior written approval from the Museum.
  • Audio recording is prohibited.
  • Visitors' mobile phones must be set to silent whilst on the premises.

7. Visitor Safety

  • Closed-toe footwear must be worn on Museum premises. Thongs, sandals, or open-toe shoes are not permitted.
  • Tour leaders shall keep visitors within designated Tour areas at all times.
  • Running in the Museum or touching exhibits is strictly prohibited.

8. Emergency Procedures

  • Evacuation routes will be explained at the start of the Tour.
  • In the event of an emergency, visitors must follow staff directions immediately.

9. Privacy

  • Personal information collected during bookings is used solely for administrative and communication purposes in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

10. Bus Drivers & Carers

  • Bus drivers and carers may enter the Museum with their Tour group at no charge. Any meals or refreshments for bus drivers and carers must be arranged and paid for at the time of booking.
  • Carers are expected to keep the Tour group together at all times. If any member of the group needs to leave, they must be accompanied by a carer.

11. Parking

  • Free when on Museum Tours.
  • Visitors who park on these premises do so entirely at their own risk. The Museum accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or their contents whilst parked on or around our property. This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by third parties, adverse weather conditions, or any other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Vehicles parked in unauthorised areas or in a manner that obstructs access may be subject to clamping, towing, or a fixed penalty notice at the vehicle owner's expense.
  • The premises gates are locked daily. Visitors are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is removed from the car park immediately after they vacate the Museum. Any vehicle remaining on site after the gates have been locked will be secured within the premises overnight and the owner will not be able to access their vehicle until the following working day, when the gates are reopened.
  • The Museum accepts no responsibility for any inconvenience, loss, or costs incurred as a result of a vehicle being secured on site after gate closure. This includes, but is not limited to, any costs arising from alternative travel arrangements.

12. Coats & Personal Belongings

  • Visitors are welcome to leave coats, bags, and other personal belongings at the reception desk at their own risk whilst undertaking a Tour. The Museum and its staff accept no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to items left at reception.
  • Visitors are strongly advised not to leave valuables, cash, medication, or electronic devices with their belongings at reception. Any such items are left entirely at the visitor's own risk.
  • Items must be collected from reception before leaving the premises. The Museum reserves the right to treat any items not collected by closing time as lost property. Lost property will be held for a period of 28 days, after which unclaimed items may be donated or disposed of at the Museum's discretion.
  • The Museum is not liable for any loss, inconvenience, or costs incurred as a result of items being left uncollected at closing time.

13. Accessibility

  • The Museum is committed to providing an accessible and welcoming environment for all visitors. Please contact us prior to your visit if you have any specific accessibility requirements so that we may assist you appropriately.

14. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state or territory.

15. Changes & Updates

  • The Museum reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated versions will be published on the Museum's official website. Visitors are encouraged to review these Terms and Conditions prior to each visit, as updates may occur between bookings.
