The TAA Museum is proudly operated by volunteers who are committed to preserving TAA and Australian Airlines' aviation history for future generations.

Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds. Most worked in the aviation industry, while others simply have an interest in history, museums or community service. What they all share is a passion for preserving the TAA story and creating memorable experiences for our visitors.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to:

How You Can Help

You don't need an aviation background to become a valued member of our volunteer team. We welcome people with a wide range of interests and experience.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Museum Guides

Welcome visitors, conduct guided tours and help bring the history of TAA to life.

Collection Care

Assist with cataloguing, preserving and organising historical artefacts, photographs and archives.

Aircraft & Exhibit Restoration

Help maintain and restore museum displays and historic equipment under the guidance of experienced volunteers.

Administration

Support bookings, visitor enquiries, memberships and general museum operations.

Events

Assist with open days, school visits, community events and special exhibitions.

Maintenance

Help keep the museum welcoming and well presented for visitors.

Photography & Digital Projects

Contribute to digitising photographs, documenting collections or assisting with website and social media content.

Everyone Has Something to Offer

No Aviation Experience Required

If you're enthusiastic, reliable and enjoy working with others, we'll help you learn about the museum, our collection and the fascinating history of Trans-Australia Airlines and Australian Airlines.

Training and ongoing support are provided, and you'll always have experienced volunteers nearby to help.
